My journey commenced 18 years ago at an international accounting firm, KPMG, where I established the foundations of my business career. My passion for helping businesses has seen me consult to over 1,000 businesses, with having established over 100 new businesses and helped over 300 business owners either sell or retire.
I have developed a unique insight into what makes certain businesses great. Over and over, great businesses consistently show the principles of success that determine their greatness that is, Purposes, Focus, and Resilience. I have a passion to show business owners how they can achieve their own stated greatness drawing on extensive experience working with leading small business.
With my years of experience, I have acted as an adviser, strategist, negotiator and counsellor to hundreds of business owners. Over this period, I have gained a wealth of knowledge about what makes businesses and their owners tick. I am passionate about understanding the key drivers of business performance and helping business owners achieve their full potential.
My business life has taken me through all sorts of structures including private business partnerships and executive roles in listed public companies. More recently, I established Wilson Pateras in conjunction with Nick Pateras. We recognised a gap in the market place for a more personalised approach to servicing clients needs.

With over 25 years’ experience in the business services and professional advice space, I have been fortunate to have experienced and given guidance on many tax and non-tax issues over my professional lifetime to a wide variety of clients in industries including manufacturing, law, retail, property, medical and the professional services industries.
A selection of those areas of advice include structuring and restructuring options for businesses and investment using trusts, companies and self-managed superannuation funds dealing with tax such as CGT, GST and Stamp Duty, assistance with audits conducted by various tax bodies and negotiations with the Australian Taxation Office or State Revenue Office on behalf of clients, advice and guidance in relation to family, estate and business succession planning, international tax, deceased estates and management consulting.
I have a varied portfolio of clients and I consult to them on Taxation and Financial matters, Research & Development (R&D) activities, Government grants, Superannuation and various other business-related issues. My clients consists of a range of small, medium and large size enterprises. I also enjoy assisting innovative companies and start-ups realise their potential with appropriate guidance and assistance.
I am a member of CPA Australia, a Certified Tax Advisor with the Taxation Institute of Australia, hold a Bachelor of Commerce from Latrobe University and have more than 20 years experience in professional practice.

I have over 18 years experience in professional practice working on diverse client bases ranging from small, medium and large businesses to high net worth individuals. I am a member of CPA Australia, hold a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Monash University and I am a registered tax agent.
My experience is diverse from the preparation of tax returns and financial statements for all types of entities, to tax planning and business structuring strategies, to navigating through ATO audits, assisting clients with family law matters and have experience consulting to international corporations. I also have an interest in accounting software and information technology, and have previously spent a number of years as a part time IT manager.

I have assisted a wide range of clients to manage their accounting and taxation affairs . Included in my client base are foreign corporations, Australian subsidiaries of foreign corporations, Australian base entities with investments in offshore entities as well as a wide range of mainly family controlled groups. Most of my clients have been with me for in excess of 20 years and significant portion of my clients originate from referrals.

I commenced in the accounting profession in 1992 and qualified as a CPA in 1996, achieving high distinction results in professional exams.
I work on several large groups of entities and work closely with clients on a day to day basis. I have a flair for services such as budgets and cash flow projections and also have experience dealing with a wide cross section of industries.
I qualified in South Africa in 1980 as a Chartered Accountant. I have spent practically all of my career in the accounting profession and worked as a partner in a firm in South Africa for 4 years before immigrating to Australia in 1986, where I was employed for a 9 month period with Australian National Line as an internal auditor and later as a management accountant.

I have maintained a broad professional accounting background. I commenced in the accounting profession in 1973 with Barry Garnham & Co. and was involved with all aspects of the profession. In 1978, I commenced with Wallace McMullen & Smail and was involved predominantly in taxation. In 1982, I accepted the position Taxation/Computer Manager with A.H.G. Clarke & Co., Chartered Accountants.
In 1986, I commenced public practice in Doncaster as a sole practitioner trading as Stuart M. Ferguson & Co. I enjoyed considerable growth in my client base between 1986 and 1989.
I joined Wilson Pateras in 2019 as Principal.
I am a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
I commenced in private practice in 1963 and in 1964 joined Des Hinsley, with whom I was to have a working relationship for approximately 42 years.
My clients include a wide range of small to medium clients with several high wealth clients being advised on a range of tax and accounting matters.

I practised as an accountant with a mid-sized city firm of accountants before establishing my own Practice in 1961.
Peter Watmuff joined the Practice in 1964 and we together developed the Practice with a group of solid, varied and interesting commercial and professional clients until the Practice merged with Todes Williams & Ferguson in December 2006, to become TWF Partners.
My expertise (gained over the many years) has been extremely varied. There has been a focus on Revenue Law and Practice in Direct and Indirect Taxation, including overseas issues.
I have significant property expertise (in law, investments,acquisition/ construction and administration) and have acted for clients in Family Law, Probate actions and other litigation.
I have worked closely with clients to properly understand and determine the business issues, acted closely for clients in the sales of their businesses and provided general business and associated advice on a full range of business matters.
In 2019, I joined Wilson Pateras as Consultant.
I joined Wilson Pateras with 18 years’ experience in professional practice, specialising in areas of taxation for high net worth individuals as well as trusts, companies and Self Managed Superannuation Funds. I am a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and have a degree in Bachelor of Business – Accountancy.
My main focus is my clients, ensuring that I can assist with the improvement/enhancement of their net worth as well as the facilitation of their daily taxation requirements. This includes maintaining correct records, teaching the use of accounting software programs and identifying efficient and cost effective ways of doing things.
Over the years, one thing that I have learned from a mentor was to always ensure that clients receive a reply on the same day. I can proudly say that this approach has allowed me to maintain a professional relationship with my clients who can rely on a great service and that trust that their needs are given importance.

I am a Manager at Wilson Pateras specialising in self-managed super. I have significant experience in managing funds and working closely with clients to properly understand and assist on a full range of SMSF matters. I have a strong information technology background with a Bachelor of Business focusing on Accounting & Finance at La Trobe University.
I began working in the SMSF accounting sector back in 2008 at Super Concepts learning from some of the smartest SMSF specialist in the business. Ultimately I lead several teams responsible for lodging up to a thousand funds with over a billion dollars in assets.
Over the years, my expertise expanded in all areas of accounting including pensions, corporate actions, daily administration, fund migrations, new business, business optimisation & training.
In July 2018, I moved to a local business service accounting firm to focus on centralising the SMSF area. I was responsible for a book of several hundred clients helping to manage client and adviser relationships, meeting lodgement requirements, providing technical expertise with issues ranging from QROPS to LRBA’s and keeping up to date with legislative change.
My extensive background in team leadership and working within the financial services industry has given me a great understanding on the complexities of SMSF fund management.
