Medical centres have many unique bookkeeping challenges and requirements. It is important that you understand these if you own a practice, clinic or other healthcare-related business. In order to uncover ways to increase profitability, and avoid needless costs, bookkeeping accountants work toward maximising every dollar, despite the often low margins involved.
At Wilson Pateras, we provide tailored services as doctor accountants in Melbourne, offering a unique approach to this complicated space. Managing your books for you, we’ll keep you compliant and in line with all relevant tax laws and requirements. meanwhile, our team will always provide you with the reports and data you need to better understand how to increase your practice’s profitability and efficiency, and effectively plan for the future.
Many businesses in this sector share the same accounting problems and often, they compound one another. When this happens, it’s almost impossible to know where you stand. One day you could have a positive cash-flow problem and the next, you could have an issue that makes it appear you are losing money, when you may not be.
Poor financial planning, unreliable reporting and inadequate or ineffective documentation are the top three reasons you might get audited by the Australian Tax Office. If you don’t get these things right, you could end up paying more in penalties than you would have otherwise. At Wilson Pateras, our business accounting experts ensure all of these bases are covered, giving you a team of medical accountants and bookkeepers who know every detail involved in these matters.
Ideally, your bookkeeping should start long before your medical facility opens its doors for business. Doing it this way will ensure that all your accounting transactions are recorded accurately and you have all the necessary financial reports you need to make well-informed decisions about your business.
As accountants for medical practitioners, we’ll ensure your clinic or centre is ready to take on new clients and go public, without any financial risks involved.
There’s never a bad time to start establishing good medical bookkeeping practices as an already-existing healthcare business. If you get your books in order and implement the right financial reporting and planning as soon as possible, you’ll set your business on the right course for success. Gain a clear picture of where you’re heading, and identify challenges before they hit, so you’re always well-prepared for any hurdles.
Take advantage of opportunities as they arise, without getting tripped up by them. Let us create a workable budget for your business and guide you towards sticking to it. Know where your money’s going and how your revenue streams are performing. No matter what aspect of your financial situation you need clarity on, we’ll provide it.
